Rumor: Cowboys Vs. Rams Season Opener Expected Around The NFL

Though the NFL’s league calendar feels incredibly uncertain at the moment, rumors are circulating about what the Dallas Cowboys season opener may look like in September.

NBC Sports’ Peter King is reporting that there is growing speculation that the Cowboys will open the 2020 season at the Los Angeles Rams, marking the first game at the Rams’ new SoFi Stadium.

Of course, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was reportedly instrumental in helping to move the NFL back to Los Angeles. Plus what a better way to start a new era of football in LA than with the Dallas Cowboys, right?

Now all of this is assuming that the league is allowed to play games come September, and that the construction of the stadium is complete in time. California Governor Gavin Newsom was far less optimistic than our President when speaking to the possibility of games being played with fans in attendance come September, going as far to say that he is “not anticipating that happening in this state.”

There is still a ton of unknown around everything right now, but assuming we are back to normal and functioning for football season, this would be a fun new way to open up the year.

Because I (like many of you) am tired of the annual Cowboys/Giants season opener.
