Super Bowl 57: Mahomes does it again as Chiefs comeback to defeat the Eagles

Last night we witnessed a high-scoring, and exciting Super Bowl play out between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the entire Dallas Cowboys fanbase behind the Chiefs, they pulled through for us to defeat the hated Eagles.

With another comeback victory for Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, this win delivers him his second Lombardi trophy. Mahomes had 182 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Mahomes ended up earning Super Bowl MVP after his great performance.

Mahomes had also earned MVP for the season. Prior to this Super Bowl, this marks the first time since Quarterback Kurt Warner that a player has won the Super Bowl in the same season as obtaining the MVP award.

Both teams played great, and the Eagles and Chiefs both deserved to be on this stage together.

Everyone knows that there can only be one champion, so here’s how it went down.

During the first half, the Eagles received the ball first and drove down the field with ease. Quarterback Jalen Hurts would rush for a 1-yard touchdown.

Once the Chiefs had the chance with the ball, it was easy to see that this Super Bowl would be filled with a lot of offense. The score would then end up being 7-7 as Mahomes would connect with Tight End Travis Kelce for a touchdown.

To start the second quarter Hurts would throw it downfield for a 45-yard TD to Wide Receiver A.J. Brown who was quite unstoppable tonight for Philly.

The Chiefs would end up punting the ball back to the Eagles after a failed drive. This would however end up being a great gift for the Chiefs as Hurts would fumble the ball on this drive.

An absolutely amazing surprise for the Cowboys’, and Chiefs’ fanbases.

With the half coming to a close, Hurts would run into the endzone again for another Eagles TD.

After that, Mahomes would come back out onto the field only to get his ankle twisted up on a 3rd down play. This caused many NFL fans to stand up from their seat as it was uncertain if he would return.

As the Eagles kicked a late field goal to make it a 24-14 point game, the 1st half came to a close.

Oh no, it looks like the Eagles are going to win this one big… Is what people who clearly don’t know who Patrick Mahomes is said.

The Chiefs would go on to outscore the Eagles 24-8 in the second half.

The 3rd quarter was pretty basic with the Chiefs scoring a touchdown to start off the new quarter and the Eagles making a 33-yard field goal. The 4th quarter was where the fun began.

Still down by six points, the Chiefs would need to hurry up the pace of their game, which they did, scoring another touchdown with 12 minutes remaining.

The score would then become 28-27 as the Chiefs would take their first lead of the game.

On the next drive, the Eagles wouldn’t be able to make anything happen and would punt it away, this is where Wide Receiver Kadarius Toney would make a game-changing play.

This clutch return would give Kansas City another touchdown and extend their lead to 35-27.

With so much on the line, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense would come back onto the field. With a huge 35+ yard catch by DeVontae Smith, the Eagles would score again and convert their 2-point conversion.

As the score was tied at 35, Mahomes would do what he does best and lead his team on a game-winning drive. With 11 seconds left, the Kansas City Chiefs would kick a game-winning field goal to win the 57th Super Bowl game.

An amazing game to watch, and certainly a memorable game.

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys can sleep well tonight knowing they won’t have to hear any news of their rivals winning the Super Bowl.

From the heart of Dallas, we’d all like to say a huge thank you to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
