Super Bowl LII Prop Bets Available Right Now

Super Bowl LII is set! The Cowboys will be sitting at home watching and thinking about everything that went wrong this season, while their division rivals — the Philadelphia Eagles — attempt to dethrone the New England Patriots. While the Cowboys have a lot of offseason issues to address, the average fan still has a big game to look forward to, along with all the hoopla it brings.

Tom Brady led the Patriots to another miraculous fourth-quarter comeback in their 24-20 win in the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Eagles embraced being the underdogs again, crushing the Vikings 38-7 in the NFC Championship Game.

Nick Foles stepped up and had the game of his life, throwing for 352 yards and three touchdowns against what many considered the best defense in the NFL. Foles and the Eagles still don’t get much respect, as they opened anywhere from 5 to 6.5-point underdogs against the Patriots.

The odds might be lopsided, but Super Bowl LII promises to be an exciting game because New England has a highly efficient offense and the Philadelphia defense has allowed just 17 points in two playoff games.

But, like every year, the outcome of the game isn’t the only aspect of interest to bettors and fans. Pretty much everything that takes place before, during and after the Super Bowl will be monitored, for example, the opening coin toss, the halftime show or the commercials, so make sure to check SBR for NFL prop bets.

Some of the most exotic props, like the color of Gatorade poured on the head coach of the winning team, which company will air the first commercial, Pink’s hair color during the national anthem or the number of guest performers during the halftime show, will be available closer to Super Bowl Sunday. But here’s a list of the main props on offer at most sportsbooks right now:

Outcome of the Opening Coin Toss

  • Heads -105
  • Tails -105

This might be the simplest of all the props that’ll be available, but it’s also the most popular for bettors. The Super Bowl coin toss is basically a 50/50 proposition and betting on it is practically a tradition, as hundreds of thousands of dollars are wagered on this particular prop.

The coin toss has pretty much been a 50/50 proposition when looking at the outcomes at past Super Bowls, as heads landed 24 times and tails 27 times.

Team to win the coin toss

  • Philadelphia Eagles -105
  • New England Patriots -105

You can also bet on the team to win the opening coin toss at Super Bowl LII. The teams that win the coin toss have emerged victorious in 24 of the 51 Super Bowls, and what’s most impressive is that heads and tails each turned up 12 times during the 24 wins.

The last four opening coin tosses at the Super Bowl have come up tails, and the NFC team has won 18 of the last 20 flips. Also, keep in mind the team that has won the coin toss has lost the last three Super Bowls.

Make sure you consider all these trends before betting these props, and don’t overlook the impact of this simple event, as it determines which team will receive the ball on the opening kickoffs in each half.

If prop bets are not your cup of tea and you’re really feeling like taking a long shot on the Cowboys, we have great news. The odds for who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy in 2019 recently came out and the Cowboys are listed 18/1 to win the Super Bowl.

These odds will surely change, so you might want to take advantage of the early lines and take a chance on next season.
