So it begins… The rematch is here between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. Last season ended in a heartbreaking 29-31 loss. Will this time be different? Or will the Cowboys finally conquer Quarterback Tom Brady? Let’s take a look at what’s ahead.
To start our preview, we all can see that the Dallas Cowboys defense will be a whole lot better than last year. Micah Parsons is going into his second year and is a favorite to-win defensive player of the year. Cornerback Trevon Diggs is also looking to improve to an even better player this year as well. Overall our defense looks like one that can defeat Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Now looking toward our offense, that’s a whole other story. While we still have Quarterback Dak Prescott and other great players on offense, we are missing some key factors. For one, Our offensive line is not too hot right now.
Yes, yes, I know that I’ve already made many articles on how our O-line needs improvement so I won’t focus on it too much here. Now with the addition of OT Jason Peters signing with the Cowboys, this may help out a lot.
On the other topic, we are missing a lot of wide receivers. This is going to be a critical part of Sunday. Wide Receiver Michael Gallup will not be playing despite some rumors that he will. This is a huge problem for our team and hopefully, our younger receivers will be ready to play.
Before the predictions take place, another problem I have seen from the previous year is the red zone. Last year the Cowboys (on offense) did great in the red zone, managing to rank #6 among all the other teams.
While the red zone for our defense lacked. We managed to let up a lot of scores in the red zone by the opposing team last year. The Cowboys should want to have this under control when playing Tom Brady so they can stop him before he manages to score.
Now for the fun part, the predictions! To start, I have a feeling Dallas will score first in this game but by the end of the first half Tampa will lead. The score should be around 17-10. Come the next quarter, our defense will be unstoppable and barely let Brady pass the 50-yard line. Late in the game, the score will be 24-24. Then, the unthinkable happens.
While Brady is running down the field trying to put together a game-winning drive, Diggs (or another corner) will pick Brady off and set up the Cowboy’s offensive to kick a game-winning field goal as time expires making the final score 24-27.
This would be an amazing start to the Cowboys’ season and maybe set up things for future games. Either way, this game will be the best of the best and I will be sure to tune in to watch it.
