One strength of the Dallas Cowboys in 2024 should be the cornerback position.
Even if the team does resign Stephon Gilmore. On Wednesday Mike McCarthy let everyone know as to when we could see Trevon Diggs return to action for Dallas.

Could Start On PUP List
McCarthy said Diggs ‘looks great’ in his return from a torn ACL.
There seems a real chance Diggs will start training camp on PUP list, but “he’s in a good spot,” reported NFL insider Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.
As we should know the PUP list stands for “Physically unable to perform.” Training camp starts for the Dallas Cowboys in late July
McCarthy wasn’t the only member of the Cowboys organization to have a hopeful perspective on Diggs’ possible return as of late.
One of my personal favorite coaches on the staff, Al Harris said having both Diggs and DaRon Bland on the field will be awesome.

I’m fired up,” Harris said, per Garrett Podell of CBS Sports. “I’m sorry man. Seriously, I’m fired up.
Diggs looked good before going down last season.
He was targeted eight times and allowed two catches for 26 yards, per Pro Football Focus.
He allowed a 1.0 passer rating, broke up two passes, intercepted another and dislodged a pass intended for Saquon Barkley that DaRon Bland returned for one of his record-setting five pick-sixes
Outlook for 2024
Stephon Gilmore seems too expensive to bring back, even though I would love to have him back for one more year. He was great at filling in for Diggs when he went down with an injury.
Jourdan Lewis signed a one-year deal worth $2.8275 million guaranteed. His base salary is just $2.66 million, and he’ll count less than $2 million against the salary cap.
We have to be honest here. Yes, Bland was an All-Pro, but he did that with his ball-hawking skills.
Teams started to test him at the end of the season, but in the playoff loss to the Packers, he did not look so good against Jourdan Love and the young Green Bay wide receivers.
They still have Eric Scott Jr. who they drafted last year, and added to their cornerback back room in the fifth round of the draft by selecting Caelen Carson out of Wake Forest.
Other things…Eric Kendricks will wear the green dot this season..Lot of experience at the mike spot in Zimmer's system. Trevon Diggs and DeMarvion Overshown look to becoming along in their rehab as they got work off to the side today.

I still think they lack a little bit of depth, but getting Trevon Diggs back is just like replacing him with Gilmore.
I would love to have them both as we did not get to see that a season ago when Diggs went down.
Mike Zimmer’s defense will look a bit different from Dan Quinn.
Cowboys are in a big year for a lot of folks. Dak Prescott is in a contract year, CeeDee Lamb does not a have a new deal and probably won’t show up until he does. Micah Parsons has even started to express his feelings.
Parsons still has two years left on his deal, I want him signed long term, but if he goes and wins the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024, his price will sky rocket.
Parsons and Zimmer might have some things to figure out before that though.
“Honestly, me and Zim have probably said a total of 20 words together,” Parsons said Tuesday, via Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He’s a very quiet person. All I keep hearing from the coaches, ‘Zim likes it [like] this.’ Well, I like it this way.
Let’s hope this won’t get overblown. It’ll be fun to see Diggs back on the field with Bland and the rest of the crew. Eric Kendricks has already made an impact and is a big time leader.
