If it’s not one thing it’s another with the 2020 Dallas Cowboys. Tyron Smith, who missed two games due to neck stingers from an injury that occurred on September 17, returned last Sunday in the Cowboys 49-38 loss to the Cleveland Browns. However, that return may be short-lived.
According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Smith will miss practice Thursday as his neck issue continues to be an annoyance.

Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy gave an update on his star left tackle on Thursday.
“He’s further back than he was this time last week, would be the best way to describe it,” McCarthy said.
If Smith can’t go this Sunday vs the New York Giants it will be the third game he’s missed already in 2020, which would equal the number of games he’s sat out in each of the previous four seasons after only missing one start in his first five seasons.
That would mean undrafted free agent Brandon Knight, who was solid in Smith’s absence, would make his third start of the season at left tackle and Terence Steele, who has struggled mightily, would start at right tackle with La’el Collins now out for the season after a successful hip surgery procedure earlier this week.
The Cowboys also lost starting Center Joe Looney last Sunday on the first play of the game to an MCL sprain. He was replaced by rookie Tyler Biadasz who actually held his own and looked solid.
Just four weeks into the 2020 season it’s safe to say that the Cowboys offensive line is hanging on by a thread that seems to get weaker with every passing day.
