Oh yeah, it’s really the offseason now.

Cowboys cornerback Chidobe Awuzie is entering a massive year for his future with the team. The former second round pick has been a starting outside cornerback the past two seasons, and while there have been some mixed results there is no denying his physical attributes and coverage abilities.

Awuzie has obviously been working his butt off this offseason to get ready for his contract year, and he took to Twitter to show off some of his footwork this week.

Awuzie is working on the ladder here, getting his agility and conditioning ready for the upcoming season. With Byron Jones now in Miami, Chido is the team’s number one cornerback. And it’s time for him to sink or swim in that role.

We saw him get picked on a bit at times as teams avoided Jones on the other side in recent years, but Awuzie has all the talent to blossom into a very good cornerback for this team.

A world where Awuzie, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, and newly drafted rookie Trevon Diggs all hit their ceilings as players exists. And it’s one the Dallas Cowboys are banking on arriving sooner rather than later.
