What if the Cowboys Beat the 49ers?

In the world of sports, we can always rely on fans’ curiosity about what could have happened in a game. What if this was different? What if that was different? Lots of talk like that can occur in a football game.

Although, it is always fun to daydream about the other possible outcomes that could have occurred in a different timeline. For this fun experiment, we can ask; What if the Dallas Cowboys beat the San Francisco 49ers in the 2022 playoff game?

We can first picture the game with 14 seconds left, somehow some way the Cowboys managed to get the ball back. This time besides running down the middle for the clock to expire, Dak Prescott hits Lamb for a 40-yard touchdown. The extra point is good to end the game.

What a comeback that would have been! The final score is 24-23, Cowboys. Now, what will happen next?

Well, we will be sure to have some controversial opinions all over the news and sports channels. Besides those comments, the Cowboys would then be heading into a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This game would have brought back memories of early in the season when Dallas lost an extremally close game to the Buccaneers 29-31. Would this game be any different? I’m not so sure.

With the way the Cowboys had been on offense and defense, I sadly think that the Bucs would have come out victors in this game. Tom Brady would have thrown for more yards than in the first game and I predict the final score would have been around 21-35.

So no matter how you look at it, it seems the Cowboys just don’t have the push or luck to get past much. The story wouldn’t end here though.

If we were to take a look at the other end we would see a matchup between the Packers and Rams. I believe this would have been a high-scoring game that would have hardly any defense.

My guess is that the packers would come out of this one with the victory 41-28.

Now this NFC championship looks a whole lot different, Packers vs Bucs. A rematch of last season’s NFC championship. This one is a coin flip in my mind.

If I had to end up picking I would choose the Packers to advance and go to the Super Bowl. Speaking of the Super Bowl, it would be a very interesting matchup.

Bengals vs Packers, earlier in the season these two met and missed a bunch of field goals just to waddle into overtime together. While the Packers won that game 25-22, I believe things would be different.

At the end of it all, I think the Bengals would have won the Super Bowl due to their momentum and hype.

It’s interesting to see that a simple game flipped the other way could result in a huge change like this. The Cowboys’ fate was determined that day but it’s always fun to think what would have happened with a different outcome.

Who knows, perhaps the Cowboys would have made a run to the Super Bowl, and maybe the other games would have had different outcomes because of the 49ers and Cowboys game.

This is just around my lines of thinking in the realm of football’s “What if” category. Many other questions can be asked in the future surrounding the alternate outcomes of games and other football news.
