Which is the Best QB in the NFC East

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys destroyed the NFC East in conference play by going 6-0 against all division teams. Could this year be a repeat? Perhaps, but that’s a question for another day. What we can determine right now is which NFC East quarterback will be the best this upcoming season.

Now when I say “the best”, I mean in terms of stats. We can try to determine each quarterback’s stats by looking at the previous seasons and if any changes have been made on offense for their team to affect their stats.

The New York Giants:

Last season Quarterback Daniel Jones threw a completion rate of 64.3% with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Not very solid stats for a QB that’s going into his 4th year. When we look at how the Giants’ offense has changed, we can see that they drafted Offensive Tackle Even Neal with the seventh pick.

This pick will give Jones more time to throw the ball, but even then, Jones’ performance still shouldn’t shine. In terms of other changes on offense, there was nothing much to change the outcome of Jones’s year.

Looking at his previous stats though, each year it seems Jones has gotten slightly better in passing completion, so I think it is safe to say he will have a better year than last. Yet he still comes up short compared to the other quarterbacks in the league.

Washington Commanders:

Carson Wentz is here, still. This man has been on the move ever since joining the NFL. He has played for the Eagles, the Colts, and now the Commanders. With a new team this year, it’s tough to determine whether he will have an explosive year or not.

With a team like the Commanders though, I wouldn’t be betting on Wentz to win the MVP or anything. The chances of a downfall year are more likely than a positive one. I may even have to say that Daniel Jones has a better chance to put up more stats than Wentz does.

Philadelphia Eagles:

Uh-oh, the Eagles have arrived! This team looks dangerous this year. A huge amount of hype surrounds them and their Quarterback, Jalen Hurts. Many fans suspect a huge year for this guy, and some people are even interested in going deep into the playoffs.

This will be Jalen’s third year in the NFL, and last season he racked up a completion rate of 61.3%. He threw for 16 touchdowns with 9 interceptions. We also know that Hurts really likes to run, and this year we should see even more of that.

Jalen Hurts will for sure be putting up a large number of stats this season compared to his previous two. I’d go as far as saying that he may even be a top QB this year in terms of stats.

Dallas Cowboys:

Dak Prescott is walking into his 7th season as a Cowboy and is back for some vengeful play. The Cowboys had one of the greatest offenses of all time last season and it was thanks to Dak Prescott’s stats.

Dak put up 37 touchdowns last season and 10 interceptions. He also held a completion rate of 68.8%. These types of stats don’t come around too often. Will we see these same statistics again? Probably not. This is due to a lack of receivers and the O-line’s constant struggle. The latest addition of OT Jason Peters signing with the Cowboys should definitely help with this matter.

With all that said, Dak seems to still be the best-looking quarterback among the rest. His stats will be in jeopardy of declining due to those errors on offense, but we should still see a quarterback with determination to win games.

Now it’s time to rank them all.

  1. Dak Prescott
  2. Jalen Hurts
  3. Daniel Jones
  4. Carson Wentz

This is how things should line up between the four quarterbacks in terms of stats at the end of the season. It is for sure going to be a battle for that top spot. Dak is going to have to stick with every game and play hard to make sure he is #1.
