1986 and 1989 are the only two other times the Dallas Cowboys have failed to have someone represent them in the Pro Bowl (not including replacement alternates) in the organizations 51-year history. Sadly, this year could be the third.

Back on September 13 when the season began in Los Angeles the Dallas Cowboys had 14 players on the roster who had made at least one Pro Bowl. Now the majority of them are on injured reserve, including a Pro Bowl regular, Zack Martin.

Sadly, Zack Martin’s impressive Pro Bowl streak could be coming to an end. He’s been voted in every year since entering the league in 2014, but that could be over with him currently on injured reserve. It’s unfortunate because he was playing at a Pro Bowl level at both right guard and right tackle before injuries landed him on IR.

Surprisingly enough though, Martin’s reputation might still get him the votes needed to keep his Pro Bowl streak alive. He might be the Dallas Cowboys best chance of having someone represent them this year, although Amari Cooper could be a close second.

Amari Cooper is arguably the only other player on the Cowboys roster who is consistently playing up to their normal standards. He’s arguably a Top 5 WR this year, however, he doesn’t really have the same kind of name recognition/fan base as other receivers around the league. That could hurt him as far as voting is concerned.

Other than Zack Martin and Amari Cooper only DeMarcus Lawrence, Aldon Smith, and Jaylon Smith have come anywhere close to playing at a Pro Bowl level. None of them however have done it on a consistent basis, which makes it unlikely.

The sad reality is the Dallas Cowboys record and poor play all season will probably work against them as far as Pro Bowl voting is concerned. Someone may sneak in, although, it’s a longshot at best in my opinion. Unfortunately, that pretty much sums up how bad 2020 has been for them.
