During the 2022 NFL Season, the entire NFC East had a great year with win after win.
None of the teams in the division went under .500 for the season.
This was a massive surprise for sports fans, as no one saw this coming. Over the last few years, the NFC East has been somewhat of a joke division. In 2019-2020, the NFC East had a combined record of 23-40-1.
During that year, the Washington Commanders… Or was it the Football Team? I don’t know, they confuse me. They went 7-9 and were the only team from our division to make the playoffs, only because they won the division.
Looking at this season, we can see a catastrophic difference. The NFC East had a combined record of 43-23-2 in 2022. Not to mention three teams from the East went to the playoffs this year, and they all made it to the divisional round.
So, what’s next for the NFC East? Will next season be a flop, or will the East return to its beast mode stage like last season?
Philadelphia Eagles:
Wow, what a year for the Eagles. As I clench my fist with rage seeing them finish the year with a 13-4 record and a Super Bowl appearance, there’s no denying that they owned this season entirely.
Their reign over the league will come to an end next season, as history will repeat itself and the Eagles will fall. In 2017 when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, the next year they went 9-7.
Still a good record, but not the dominant one we saw this year. Next season the Eagles will have an 8-9 type record and will miss the playoffs.
Dallas Cowboys:
Yay! Onto the best team here, the Dallas Cowboys. With back-to-back 12-win seasons under Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s belt, this team has a lot of potentials to win big once again.
Another 10+ winning season is on its way, and another playoff appearance is too for the Cowboys.
The team may be a bit messy to start out next year, basically due to massive coaching changes, and certain players on standby, but that shouldn’t harm the Cowboys’ season overall.
Why haven’t I declared the Cowboys as division champs? Arent they worthy enough to claim it?
Yes, The Cowboys have a very good chance of winning the East, and the Eagles shouldn’t be worrisome. There is one team that may be scary heading into 2023 though…
New York Giants:
While a laughable team back in 2021, the Giants really turned their program around by hiring Head Coach Brian Daboll. Daboll has to be one of the most intelligent coaches in the entire NFL, as he proved this season.
It’s hard to win with the Giants, let alone take them to the playoffs and win there as well.
The Giants are going to have an explosive year in 2023. The division title may even go to the Giants at the end of the season, but I think it will come down to one game, Giants vs Cowboys.
The Giants go 12-5 in 2023 and likely win the NFC East.
Washington Commanders:
Oh yeah, you guys.
Apologies but this team is hard to remember, which is why next season they don’t win more than 6 games.
The Commanders are destined to lose because of many reasons, one being that they still don’t have a Quarterback to work around.
The team is in complete disarray and a losing record is more than likely next year.
Overall, we will be seeing an NFC East similar to the 2016 season, with both the Giants and Cowboys making the playoffs, while the Commanders commit another Carson Wentz season.

I can’t wait for next season, as the Cowboys will be back to win some games and make a good winning run. The NFC East will have a decent year and succeed once again as one of the best divisions in the NFL.
